Just as one example, first to sign up to be one of the exhibitors at static display are two true enthusiasts. The Swedes Martin Johansson and Håkan Eriksson have restored one of the Swedish Armed Forces "Startbil 954" (a aircraft tug with Ground Power Unit, GPU) from the fifties to a really good condition. Except from that, they will of course show up in autenthic uniforms with all of the right details from this time. So, make a visit to these guys at static display, learn more about the car and feel the tide of history!

2012-04-17 Four days with flight and modern technology in focus
Aerospace Forum Sweden is a recurring highlight and one of the major events arranged by the Swedish Armed Forces during 2012.
“Four days with flight in focus” is a manifestation of a long-established tradition in Sweden, a tradition where investments in education, research, technology and innovation, together with unique collaboration between operators, constructors and authorities, have produced excellent results.
When Aerospace Forum Sweden (AFS) first came about in 2010, its purpose was primarily to draw attention to the 100th anniversary of Swedish aviation. The event was a major success, displaying historic aircraft, Swedish military aircraft and world-leading high technology.
During this year’s AFS, where the focus is on present and future challenges seen from a strategic perspective, the programme covers many different areas – areas which will be decisive for the future development of our already modern air defences, which demand advanced technology and cutting-edge expertise. In order to also be able to maintain our essential capabilities in the future, we will need to include and build upon previous results and unique collaborations in an international context. This applies both to strategic collaborations within all the previously named areas and to strong efforts both at home and abroad.
All of this is aimed at increasing our operative capability whilst simultaneously increasing efficiency in the production of our response capabilities.
“I look forward to this event with great confidence and hope that this year even more people seize the opportunity to take advantage of what this unique event has to offer”, says Micael Bydén, Chief of Staff Swedish Air Force.
